Planning approval for revised Main Stand Development

Last week, Crystal Palace FC achieved planning approval from Croydon Council for the updated application of the Main Stand development.

The recently submitted changes do not alter the size or scale of the original KSS designed scheme that achieved planning in 2018 but feature only minor adjustments to the scheme to adhere to new London Plan requirements.

Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish said he was “Overjoyed”, “It’s fantastic, it’s brilliant for the club. Now, as with the Academy, the hard work really starts. We’ve got an agreement in principle on the land which is very important. We’re much further forward than we were before.”

Inspired by the club’s rich heritage, our design pays homage to the original iconic Crystal Palace on Sydenham Hill, and would see the capacity at the stadium increase from 26,000 to more than 34,000. The five-storey ‘centrepiece’ incorporates the soaring wings of the Eagle in a dramatic reimagination and redevelopment of Selhurst Park.

The plans also include improved facilities for disabled supporters, premium hospitality services, entertainment facilities for more than 2,500 fans and between 16-28 boxes, which will give members a unique vantage point as the players prepare for matches.
