Anfield Road Stand, Liverpool FC one year on
20 January 2026
One year on since the completion, the expansion continues to enhance the matchday experience for thousands of fans, reinforcing Anfield’s status as one of football’s most iconic stadiums.
Delivered through a phased approach, the development increased seating capacity to 61,000, adding 7,000 seats.
The project aimed to preserve Anfield’s unique atmosphere while enhancing the matchday experience with modernised facilities, including improved seating, concourses and hospitality lounges. A key feature is the relocation of the Family Park to an integral Fan Zone, the first of its kind in a UK stadium.
The architectural design reflects the owners’ aim to maintain the historical four-stand configuration, capture the club’s unique spirit and legacy and respect the Grade 2 listed Stanley Park setting. The project involves restoring and enhancing the lower tier, complemented by adding a new upper tier.
The stadium is now entirely seated, including safe standing rail seating, with the flexibility to accommodate various arrangements for away fan seating to meet the requirements of different leagues or cup competitions. It also features expanded facilities for wheelchair spectators and their companions, with dedicated entrances and new elevated bowl seating.

The interior and graphic design resulted from a detailed visioning exercise. It provided a carefully considered interior design palette across all areas, developing the themes of the KSS-designed Main Stand. The Fan Zone, Brodies and The Founders Lounge are unique to the Anfield Road Stand and have their own brands.
Our brand activation team went to find the best storytelling opportunities to elevate the GA concourse areas, including the away fans’ concourses. These outstanding designs evolve from the work started on the Main Stand but are refined, specifically elevating the experience to that stadium area. These graphics celebrate the football world and iconic moments of various grand events at Anfield Road stadium throughout the years.
Brodies Lounge is a contemporary hospitality space designed to embody the excitement and distinctive ambience of matchdays at Anfield Stadium. It offers direct access and the best views of Stanley Park. The lounge is enhanced by large murals commemorating iconic goals scored at the end of Anfield Road throughout the years.

The Founder’s Lounge is an innovative hospitality lounge that delivers a unique, high-end experience. Accommodating 150 guests, it offers exceptional dining options in a luxurious setting. The objective was to establish an exclusive arrival experience that leaves a warm and opulent first impression. Its modern design incorporates glass facades that showcase stunning views of the pitch, while the lounge’s textures, colours, and intricate details pay homage to the city’s character and the club’s heritage.

The expansion of Anfield Road will mark the completion of the Anfield redevelopment initiative, leading to a stadium accommodating over 61,000 spectators. This redevelopment was executed in two phases; the first phase saw the enlargement of the Main Stand, which was finalised and inaugurated in 2016, raising Anfield’s overall capacity to 54,074. Following this, the plans for the Anfield Road Stand were revised, enabling the second phase of the expansion. This final phase features one of Europe’s most impressive stands, providing top-tier facilities for players, fans and premium hospitality guests.
