Work begins at Benenden School

KSS have designed a range of upgrades for one of the leading boarding schools in the UK. Ash Construction have secured the contract for these Summer works.

Benenden School is a top independent school for girls aged 11-18 and is situated in 250 acres of beautiful parkland in Kent.

Our scope of works includes an internal refurbishment of the existing houses of ‘Medway’ year 7 and ‘Marshall’ years 8-11. We are also refreshing the dormitories and bathrooms with key interventions and reconfigurations to social student spaces including ‘booters’ area, study spaces and the social snug. Additionally, we are developing personalised identity graphics and artwork packages throughout the houses, focusing on the school’s ethos, women in education and the history of the houses.

KSS Director Andy Simons said, “We are proud to be chosen to undertake this significant refurbishment of the girls’ home from home. This begins a programme of future upgrading throughout the Boarding Houses.”

Headmistress Samantha Price said, “These works will create a boarding house that will be dedicated to the Fourths, our youngest age group, and which will offer them a lovely, warm and exciting environment.  In addition, they will be refurbishing another Lower School House that represents the beginning of a transformational programme of improvements to our boarding houses.”

The refurbishment will be completed ahead of the new academic year.
