KSS’ designs for Twickenham revealed by the RFU

Last week, our designs for the east stand extension at Twickenham Stadium were revealed by the RFU.

Twickenham Stadium is the home of England Rugby with a capacity of 82,000 and is the largest dedicated rugby stadium in the world. Our designs will modernise the exterior of the east stand creating an additional 10,750sqm space to help improve existing hospitality and public facilities within the stadium. Plans to redevelop the east stand of Twickenham stadium are seen by the RFU as the next phase in delivering on a key area of its objective to fuel growth of the game at every level.

The stadium has undergone a series of upgrade works in the last couple of years, with KSS the lead designer in the major refurbishment programme in 2011, which included players’ areas, VIP hospitality, the Royal Box area and the new restyled players’ tunnel.

Our latest work with the RFU will further improve the overall appearance of Twickenham Stadium ensuring it remains a first class venue.

Subject to planning approval, works are expected to be completed by autumn 2018.
