Planning approval for Halfway Houses School
14 August 2015
KSS are delighted to announce that we have received planning approval to build a new primary school on The Isle of Sheppey, Kent.
KSS have designed the new build 3FE primary school which is located on the demolished Danley middle school site. Our design retains the calm, green, natural character of the school’s location capturing the unique ‘forest school’ ethos.
The façade design has been developed to admit natural light into the building whilst minimising solar gains and glare and to permit natural ventilation to the teaching spaces creating a positive connection between the inside and out. The choice of materials has been generated by its suitability for the local climate and conditions providing an attractive, natural, warm, and welcoming school building and environment.
The interior design provides students, staff and visitors with a variety of high quality experiences that embrace their motto, ‘Together there are no limits to what we can achieve’.
Halfway Houses Primary School is set to start on site late summer 2015, and will be completed in September 2016.
