Grand Opening of Dover Christ Church Academy

Today, the Bishop of Dover officially opened the KSS designed 4,000msq new build and refurbishment at Dover Christ Church Academy (DCCA) in Kent.

The new building is located at the heart of the original 1950’s block and links the new and the old providing a dynamic and striking building which complements the structured rhythm of the existing block. The new build provides the perfect setting for the Academy to showcase their centres of vocational excellence; a key element that distinguishes DCCA from other schools in the area.

The Sports Hall has doubled in size consisting of a four court hall which is linked to the extended drama block housing dance, fitness, changing facilities and a full size astro turf pitch providing a dynamic facility for use by both students and the local community.

The redevelopment of the site has greatly enhanced the visual impact of the Academy for pupils, visitors and the general public delivering a more inclusive, accessible and aspirational place of study in a coherent and consolidated campus.

With KSS’ thorough understanding of transformational education and contemporary teaching methods, the new build and refurbishment at DCCA provides the perfect sustainable learning environment for the younger generation of Kent.
