Following their AGM yesterday morning the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) held their annual conference at the city offices of Trowers & Hamlins and KSS were proud to be in attendance.
The event was introduced by Siobhan McMahon the National Chair with an overview of the six regions currently operating and the various events held in each followed by a series of inspirational talks by a number of guest speakers from the wide selection of careers represented. An update on the “Ask the…” project led by South East Chair Cristina Lanz-Acarate to enhance education of the wide and varied opportunities in our industry for the next generation.
Debbie Drake and Claire Wilson our Associate Director and Senior Interior Designer both agreed with the speakers that women shouldn’t underestimate their influence on the construction industry and should do everything we can to attract and retain female talent in an inspiring range of careers.
