The American Express Elite Performance Centre 2 Officially Opens

KSS recently attended the official opening of our American Express Elite Football Performance Centre 2 for Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

This is our second KSS designed facility on the site located next to the first training centre that opened to great success in 2014, which influenced the external façade design and itself has been significantly extended. The new centre has fitness, rehabilitation, and recovery facilities comparable to the men’s centre and is a clear statement of the arrival of women’s football in the UK to elite status. The centre also accommodates the administrative and analytical base as well as Albion in the Community facilities and event team.

The new building was formally opened by Chairman Tony Bloom, Non-Executive Director Michelle Walder and former Executive Director Martin Perry with many stakeholders in attendance including the contractors Buckingham Group.

After cutting the ribbon, Tony Bloom said, “The opening of our facility is at a pivotal time for women’s football in the UK following the amazing success of the Lionesses winning the Euros this summer. This building hosts six women’s and girls’ teams from the U12s all the way through the academy to the women’s first team, as well as hosting Albion in the Community offices and classrooms and it’s really great to see that it has been used so much by schools and many diverse community groups around the county. This facility really reflects the commitment that we at Brighton have in the women’s game.”
