James Budd‘s Ventoux Cycle Challenge
3 September 2014
Our very own James Budd will be taking on the ‘Cingle’ Ventoux Cycle challenge in France on the 22 September in memory of KSS employee Paula Standen who sadly passed away this year to Ovarian Cancer.
James will be undertaking the three-way ascent through Bédoin, Malaucène and Sault on some of the steepest, windiest and wildest cycle climbs in Europe with many of the routes frequently featuring in the Tour de France.
The one day challenge will cover 135km, passing through some breathtaking locations including a rare ecological environment called the Réserve de Biosphère du Mont and the unique lunar environment above Chalet Reynard. The scenic route is beautiful in its appearance, but brutal in its relentless steep inclination. The challenge includes 4,381m of climbing in the three ascents.
To promote the lead-up to the event, James participated in the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ today. To donate to James’ chosen charity Ovarian Cancer Action, click on the link: www.justgiving.com/James-Budd
